Hi - my name is Pete Bradshaw and I live on the Wirral with my three Schnauzers.
Me and Milly at the recent Cricklade Show
Miller and Murphy
I got Miller, my first Salt and Pepper Miniature Schnauzer in November 1995 quickly followed by Murphy a black Miniature (with a tail) to keep him company in January 1996.They soon became good friends and partners in several crimes, including chewed mobile phones, TV remotes, wallets, any clothes they could get hold of; and they chewed holes in my stud walls and carpets. I used to get home to find holes in the wall and two very innocent, butter wouldn’t melt in their mouths, Minis sitting there as if to say ‘what holes’. Murphy’s black beard full of white plaster sort of gave it away though....
Miller and Maxwell
In 2001 I decided it was time for another Schnauzer but this time I set my heart on the next size up , a Standard. So I packed Miller and Murphy into the car and we found ‘Bertie’ from a breeder in Walsall. He was the last one - all his brothers and sisters had gone. For me he was perfect; full of energy and he came up to me to full of confidence. When we got him home we needed to change his name straight away to an ‘M’ . So ‘Bertie’ became ‘Maxwell’, he fitted in great and soon became a happy member of our pack. Miller and Murphy took him under their wing and they would spend hours playing together. Maxwell and I started going to ringcraft to learn how to 'show' in the ring. He was a natural and picked up many fans at the ringcraft. We then started the 'show circuit' and loves every minute of it.
I decided it w
as time for another Salt and Pepper Standard puppy so off I went Kent to pick up our next addition. Merlin arrived in May 2005 and set about getting settled in to his new gang of Miller, Murphy, Maxwell and top dog me. Merlin also entered the Show ‘circuit’ and the three of us travelled the country to Shows all of the place, staying over in hotels for the further away shows. On our travels we met up with loads of new friends and kind people who helped us with advice on showing, grooming, feeding, in fact all things dogs.

Murphy and Milly
In 2006 I decided it was time to get a ‘baby girl’ to add to our pack and so in September we went down to Swindon to get Milly. We didn’t know what we were letting ourselves in for, we were houseful of boys, and now we had a girl in the house. “Hurricane Milly’ beats up the boys, she is sneaky, devious, cheeky and absolutely adorable... She too has entered the Show circuit and at 3 years old is doing very well, already picking up winners rosettes.
