Milly is Champion

Milly wins again at the Northern Schnauzer Club Championship Show!!!   Sue with Best Bitch and CC winner Milly and Judge Doug Wilkinson (pictures courtesy of the NSC) Milly was back at the Northern Schnauzer Club Champ Show almost 12 months after she won her 1st CC there last year. I could not take her into the Ring this time as I am now on the NSC Committee I had other duties - I was Stewarding in the Miniature Schnauzer ring all day, plus Committee members are not allowed to handle dogs. So I left her (and the boys who…

Cricklade Show

We were all at the Cricklade Show down in Wiltshire last weekend.  The show is held on a local farmland kindly donated for free.  In addition to the Dog show there were horses doing show jumping and stuff and loads of 'showground' rides and food and drink stands. There was a very good entry for the dog show - over 600 entries taken on the day for classes for the pedigree dogs and loads of 'fun classes too.  These were for things like waggiest tail, most like owner etc. Here are the pictures {igallery 17}

Scottish Kennel Club Champ Show

This is the first of the two SKC Champ shows held up at Ingliston near Edinburgh Airport. If anyone travelling up to the next one, and using a satnav, be careful which postcode you use.  The postcode printed on the schedule as it is incorrect as quite a few people (including us) found out and ended up about 10 miles away!  However, if you read the schedule carefully there is another postcode printed for satnav users.. The weather was forcast to be very wet so we were glad to get there before it set in - so at least we…

Milly wins the European Winners Show

Zelda and I are just back from Dublin after doing our first 'European' dog show.  We went with Pete and Colin. We got the overnight ferry from Birkenhead to Dublin; Zelda and I stayed in the car whilst the other two went on board the ferry to the bar and restaurant and then slept in a cabin - charming!  At least the car was left on deck and not below deck so we had some nice cool air and the crossing was calm.  We got to the showground early and got settled in and then saw all the foreign dogs…

Birmingham National

Another show another day.. this time we were at the County Showground in Stafford for the Birmingham National - their 150th show and we all got a commemorative ring clip which was nice. Milly was in the Limit class and there were 6 entries - we were placed 3rd, which was disappointing as I thought she showed well, moving much better than previous shows where she has had her head down.  But it's the Judge's choice... here are the results -

WELKS

We were at Malvin today for the WELKs Champ Show.  Just Milly and me today, the boys stayed home.  The weather was great, dry and sunny - so much so I got sunburnt! Milly was in the Limit Bitch class and got placed 2nd behind Jackie Watson's Miccosukees Yet Another for Jalero which went on to get the Bitch CC.  So we were beaten by the winner! Here are the results - (select read more)

Bebington Open 2009

We all went down to our local show in Ellesmere Port today. It was nice to have a show so close which meant that we didn't have to get up so early nor travel far - only 20 minutes. Merlin was in Post Grad and Milly and Maxwell were in the Open class under judge Yvonne Lewthwaite.  Merlin managed to win his class as he was the only one in it!  Milly beat Maxwell in her class and then went on to beat Merlin for Best of Breed.   Milly then got Utility Group 2 under Gary Lewthwaite so a good…
